York is the name of a town in Livingston County, New York. It is located around thirty miles southwest of the City of Rochester. , the town’s population was estimated at 3,400. York covers about forty-nine square miles and includes the hamlets of Craigs, Fowlerville, Fraser, Greigsville, Linwood, Piffard (formerly Piffardinia), Retsof, Toggletown, Wadsworth, and York. The Hamlet of Piffard is most well known for the Abbey of the Genesee. It is a community of monks famous for its production of "Monks' Bread".
Traffic Tickets in York
There are a few main roads in York that generate most of the town’s traffic tickets. These roads are US-Route 20 (Telephone Road), New York State Route 36 (Main Street), and New York State Route 63 (Genesee Street). US-20 runs east-west. Taking the road eastbound will bring you to the neighboring village of Avon and shortly thereafter, the Genesee Expressway (I-390). The US-20 is mostly laid straight and passes a number of farms. Taking the US-20 west, brings you into the Buffalo suburbs. NYS-36 runs north - south through the center of town. It passes through the hamlets of York, Retsof, and Greigsville. Intersecting with NYS-36 in Greigsville is NYS-63, which runs east-west. Taking the NYS-36 brings you directly to the neighboring Village of Geneseo.
