York is the name of a town in Livingston County, New York. It is located around thirty miles southwest of the City of Rochester. As of July of 2022, the town’s population was 3,408. York covers about forty-nine square miles and includes the hamlets of Craigs, Fowlerville, Fraser, Greigsville, Linwood, Piffard (formerly Piffardinia), Retsof, Toggletown, Wadsworth and York. The Hamlet of Piffard is most well known for the Abbey of the Genesee. It is a community of monks famous for its production of "Monks' Bread".
