The main road in the village is New York State Route 417 (NYS-417). Route 417 originates in the east from Interstate 99 at the town of Erwin. As it goes through the village it is known as North Main Street and South Main Street. As it exits the village it continues northwest towards Salamanca, its western terminus. The other main road in the village is New York State Route 305 (NYS-305). Route 305 originates in the south via Pennsylvania. As it enters the village, it joins Route 417. They both run concurrently on South Main Street. In the center of the village, NYS-305 turns right onto Brooklyn Street and continues in a northwest manner towards the town of Cuba and Interstate 86. As these roads enter the village, the speed limit is reduced to 30 mph. Many speeding citations are issued in these areas as motorists often fail to adjust their speed.
